Conversions FAQ

How do I submit a conversion request?

If you need a file format that is different from what is available, please submit a conversion request using our online request form.

Are there any eligibility restrictions?

General eligibility

Please note that we limit conversions to 5 models per week per member so that we can assist all customers who have submitted conversion requests. If you submit more than 5 requests in one week or create multiple accounts in an attempt to bypass this limitation, TurboSquid reserves the right to defer those additional conversions to a subsequent eligibility period.

Free models and collections

Free models and collections are not eligible for conversions.

2D formats

Rendering consists of transferring a 3D mesh to a 2D image. This is a different process from converting a 3D file and is not provided through our free conversion service. If you are looking for 2D content, we invite you to visit PixelSquid.com, our 2D site.

3D printing

The majority of our models are intended for use in visualization projects and are not created with 3D printing in mind. A conversion for printable content may not be possible. We suggest that you contact support first if you are interested in 3D printing a model.

Please note: we will not convert firearm models to printable formats. To read more about 3D printing of firearm models, please visit our Knowledge Base article.

Rigging and/or animation

While we can convert most files that are rigged or animated, your conversion will only include the geometry of the file. We do not provide files that retain rigging and/or animation.

How long will it take to get my conversion?

If you are working on a tight deadline, please note that we convert models on a first come, first served basis and work through our queue as quickly as possible.  It is very helpful if you let us know your deadline upon submitting your request. Knowing if you are on a tight deadline will help us to best prioritize your request.
