CheckMate Inspection Process

You can submit a 3D model product for CheckMate Certification when you publish it for sale for the first time, or when you edit an existing product. Before publishing or editing your 3D model product for certification, please see Preparing a 3D Model for CheckMate Publishing.

Note that CheckMate Certification is available only to artists who are in the SquidGuild.

  1. Go to My Files. For a new product, click Publisher, upload a 3D model product and thumbnails, and fill in all the information as usual. For an existing product, click My Published Products, and open the product.
  2. To ensure your product is ready for CheckMate submission, make sure you do the following:
    • Under Step 1, specify one file format as the native file format, and also specify the renderer used.
    • Under Step 1, enter an appropriate price for the certification level. See CheckMate Pricing for accepted CheckMate prices.
    • Under Step 1, fill in all Product Information including Poly Count and Vertex Count.
    • Under Step 2, upload at least 5 rendered thumbnails and 2 wireframe thumbnails in accordance with the CheckMate specification.
    • For CheckMate Pro, upload a turntable under Step 2.
    • Under Step 3, enter a Description. For CheckMate Pro, list the texture resolutions as part of the Description.
  3. When you have uploaded all the required thumbnails and have filled in all the required information, you are ready to submit the product to CheckMate. Under Step 1 of the Publisher, under CheckMate Submission, choose one of the submission options. Please review the CheckMate Certification Terms of Service before doing so. Note that this option is available only to artists who are in the SquidGuild.

  4. Click Publish to publish the product. When you click Publish, you might get a failure message. See CheckMate Submission Failure to learn about this message, and what to do about it.
  5. When the product is published, it will automatically be added to your CheckMate inspection queue.

This video takes you step by step through the publishing process for CheckMate.

What happens next?

When you submit a model for certification, the product goes into a queue. Then a TurboSquid Staff Inspector checks your product against the specification and sends you the results. If your model fails CheckMate Certification, you may fix the model and resubmit it to CheckMate.

While you can submit as many products as you like for CheckMate, there is a limit to the number of products that can be in your Inspection Queue at any given time. To learn more, see the CheckMate Inspection Queues topic.
